Overview of the UAE Visa Amnesty Program
Overstaying Fines
Last year, the UAE government standarized the overstaying fines. Now those who stay beyond the expiry date of their residence, tourist or visit visa will be fined AED 50 per day, as a penalty. Previously, the fine was AED 100 per day.
Visa Update or Departure Permit
You can apply for a residence or travel permit online through the authority’s website or smart channels. If biometric records are incomplete, you may need to visit an immigration center. You’ll need a departure permit to return home, which grants you a 14-day travel window.

How to Apply for the UAE Visa Amnesty?
Eligible individuals can access the UAE Visa Amnesty 2024 through multiple channels. You can submit your application online via the ICP (Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security) or MOHRE (Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization) websites. You can also visit ICP offices, Facilitation Centers, or the Consulate General and Al Awir Immigration Center in Dubai. Fingerprinting is required and must be completed at designated centers, which can be found on the ICP website.
