Dubai Chamber of Commerce
The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry came into being in 1965, with the aim of promoting trade and commerce in Dubai and also lending support to the local business community. Today, it also seeks to establish Dubai as a global hub for trade; and has a membership of more than 245,000 that spans across all business sectors.
A 24-member Board governs the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. There are also 27 business groups divided by industry sector; and another 43 Business Councils grouped by country of origin. Since 2005, it awards the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award for business excellence to those who contribute to the economic development of the United Arab Emirates. In the UAE, this is the highest business award that any entrepreneur or company in the GCC region can hope to achieve.
The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry has its head office in Deira Dubai, with another branch in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA). To support the business community spread across Dubai, it also has two representative offices in the Dry Port Customs Building at Al Aweer and the Dubai Airport Free Zone (DAFZA) respectively.
