How to Check Visa Status Using Your Passport Number
At the link, you need to select ‘Passport Information’ in the ‘Search By’ field. You also need to select either ‘Residency’ or ‘Visa’.
- Choose ‘Residency’ if you have submitted an application for a residence visa.
- If you have applied for a visit visa or an entry permit/e-visa, select ‘Visa’.
Next, enter your passport number and the Date of Expiry of your passport in the fields below. You must also select your country of citizenship from the drop-down menu in the ‘Nationality’ field, which will automatically populate the code. Finally, complete the captcha before clicking on ‘Search’ in the lower right corner.
What Information Will You Receive?
Once your visa is issued, you will receive the following details:
- File Number
- Visa Status
- Date of Issue
- Date of Expiry
A six-digit Unified ID number used for tracking purposes (employment, tourism, or as a dependent).

- Date of Payment
You should have received your Application Number when you applied for your e-visa or residency visa. Complete the captcha and click on the ‘Search’ button in the lower right corner of the page.

Checking Visa Status for Abu Dhabi and Other Emirates
If you have applied for a visa to Abu Dhabi or any of the other five emirates (Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, and Fujairah), you can use the website of the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship to track the status of your visa application:
